"In the world of photography, you get to share a captured moment with other people."

James Wilson

Hello there,

When I was little, I loved looking at old black-and-white family photographs. At the age of six, an aunt gave me my first photo album — the type with black pages, and captions to be written in with a white-ink pen! To start me off, my Mum gave me some family photos.

Growing up, I was drawn to photography, and had the chance to learn the basics using a range-finder camera that a friend lent me. I was thrilled when, one day, I had enough savings to buy my first SLR camera with a 50 mm lens. I got hooked. Attending a darkroom workshop opened my eyes to film processing and creating black-and-white prints from negatives. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

But, as life happened, my photography hobby took a back seat for many years until I returned to it when I bought a DSLR camera.

Those cherished photographs of my childhood, which piqued my interest in photography, have always held a certain charm and quality. They and all the photos that I have taken over the years are a reminder that life is made up of moments. Photography captures and preserves, forever, those “moments in time” that are never to be repeated. Photographs also have a way of linking our past to our present, and possibly even to our future.

I love capturing “moments in time” and hope that my pictures do tell a story.
