Every year, since 1984, Orchard Road — Singapore’s shopping belt — transforms into the country’s main and merriest Christmas Street from around mid-November to 1 January! This year, being Singapore’s 60th anniversary, the annual event was scaled up. I was there, with locals and tourists alike, enjoying the Christmas carols playing along the sidewalk while soaking up the festive atmosphere of dazzling lights and decorations.
