Singapore’s Chinatown was decked out in a colourful array of dragons of different shapes and sizes to usher in the Lunar New Year on 10 Feb.
I was in Chinatown on the weekend following the new year to soak up the atmosphere.
In the Chinese zodiac, the dragon is believed to be a mythical, auspicious and supreme creature, symbolising power, strength and good fortune. There are five types of dragons — Wood, Fire, Earth, Gold and Water Dragons. This year happens to be the Year of the Wood Dragon.
